Is this URL a joke? 28 characters for something you can’t possibly remember?

Sure it tells someone that it is ING’s F1 Racing Magazines’s Fan Survey… but really, do you have to be that elaborate?

This could have been a much cleaner and easier to remember URL, if only they used well known conventions such as subdomains etc… Wouldn’t this be at least easier for anyone to gripe? http://f1.ing.com/survey/

And yes, it does tell the same story…

Global “χ kilo” Constant

There is a global “χ” constant in this world we live in. The “χ weight” or “χ kilo” constant. The theory is this…

At any given moment, the complete population of earth’s inhabitants (by species: humans, canine, feline etc) is always the same “χ” kilos

Now this theory may come as a shock to many, but believe me, it explains alot of weird things. First off, if in fact this theory is real, then we can explain global hunger, which is not really “hunger”, just a way of balancing the obesity that’s present in some countries (eg US). Since the weight of an average person in the US is quite high, that means that the someone must lose weight in order to keep the “χ” constant correct. Unfortunately, some countries suffer due to natures’ correction mechanism (eg Africa)

In fact, nature’s way of course correcting is often camouflaged behind medical terms such as “metabolism“. You might say that someone has a high metabolism and that’s why he/she cannot accumulate any weight… I say it’s just nature’s way of correcting an in-balance in the “χ kilo” constant.

The “χ kilo” constant is so delicate that it can run down to the smallest details in your life.

Take me for example, when my wife was pregnant and started gaining weight, I was losing weight. After the birth of our daughter, my wife some how managed to return to her self again, and on the other hand, I’m quite larger now…

So, to say the least, the “χ kilo” constant is real. I’m sure most of you can relate…

Mozilla Labs, Weave

Mozilla Weave is a great replacement for the – now defunct – Google browser Sync. Unfortunately, the folks over at Mozilla don’t think the project deserves a better infrastructure, since it’s still in alpha phase.

Leaving all of us with a product that just doesn’t work. In other words, Weave aint weaving jack.

Alas, there is a solution. In fact it’s so simple and quick, there no reason to wait. Weave connects to a WebDAV folder on their server, but in the add-on preferences in Firefox you can change that. Point it to a new WebDAV folder, and you’re done.

For those of us who don’t have access to WebDAV folders, there’s a company somewhere in Sweden, who happily provides us with free 2Gb’s of WebDAV brilliance. Hip-hip-hooray for MyDisk.se

Step by Step, oh baby… (sic)

1. Goto mydisk.se and create a new account
2. Follow the instructions there to connect your MyDisk account to your PC/Mac (click connect MyDisk)
3. When connected, enter your MyDisk folder, and create a sub folder called “weave”
4. Open the weave preferences, and under the advanced tab, change the server to “https://mydisk.se/username/weave/”
5. Save and sync

You’ll need to change the server location parameter on all your weave add-ons (at home etc), but hey, it works!

Lightning fast, free and above all… it’s that simple! Start Syncing…

PS: Dear Mozilla, Weave is great but you don’t have a product yet. Until you do, we’ll piggy-back on MyDisk…
